There is friendly fire in co-op mode. 1. You first need to get to the garage and then co-op mode will unlock. 2. Whoever wants to join you needs to do also get to the garage. 3. Join a friend via the Join Game option or right-click his/her name to invite in Steam chat. When playing through the co-op missions, Nick and ♥♥♥♥ are not
It's a separate save. When you join a co-op, the ONLY thing taken from your game is your Chuck's level, PP amount, and moneys. You can safely play co-op, then return to where you left off in single player. (Provided you saved before co-oping) And of course, whatever story progress you make in co-op AS 2nd player isn't saved. Sorry.

Load some more. shift+tab into steam overlay. Oppen friends list. [Optional] Message them [the friend you wish to invite], and ask if they want to play. Click the drop down arrow, next to the friend you wish to invite. Click invite to game. Wait for them to join. They pop in. Kill zombies together.

But op, it’s your money if you want to refund it do it but I really like the game, solo and co op. They will eventually patch it and make it work again. You have exploiters to blame for the servers being down. Definitely. But then again i do suggest you play these games on consoles especially if you’re cooping.

Just start a game (any mode), beat the first introductory chapter (get to the garage) and then invite someone who has also beaten the first chapter. It works. But don't expect the game not to crash repeatedly, making co-op more trouble than it's worth (esp. if your game is installed to a mechanical HDD, which takes forever to load it). Boards.
Usually just takes another invite or killing the game (Xbox home screen and quit) and then inviting again. Only the player inviting has to have reached the garage the story progress isn't saved for the other player. Thanks dude. I just quit game and went back and he finally got in. Idk, I think it was more of a glitch than anything.
That means you can be playing, get an incoming request for someone to join, accept or decline, etc. If you accept, the other player will join your game. You would be the HOST and they the CLIENT or GUEST. The GUEST can save any money and levels they get but not the story progression. To use co-op, from the main menu choose "Join Co-op Game".

2, Off the Record and 3 have story multiplayer. Watch out when playing 2 and Off the Record, it has friendly fire so don't get too careless when you accidentally hit your friend. 3 does not have friendly fire but you can still knock them around. 1)if u play a game for graphics then quit playing games. 2)to implement coop they could delay the game alittle or have free dlc after the game came out 3)coop doesnt screw with game mechanics, its the same game, except the screens smaller and theres another guy that can actually kill stuff.
